It is difficult to tell what is happening with Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria and Lebanon, but here are some possible clues:
Saudi Arabia's Prince Bandar, reportedly a CIA asset, is a close friend of the Bush family.
Reportedly, Prince Bandar, who has been linked to the financing of 9 11, is in a Saudi prison. (The Missing Prince g)
Reportedly, Bandar had tried to topple the Saudi king.
It was on 2 August 2009, that it was reported that, in Saudi Arabia, a coup attempt by Prince Bandar has 'failed'
Reportedly, Bandar has supported a US attack on Iran. (Prince Bandar Allegedly Advocating Military Response Against Iran ...)
"Bandar has had contact with Israel at least since 1990." (Israel's liaison to its neighbors: Saudi Prince Bandar - Haaretz.)
Saudi Arabia's Abdullah meets Syria's Assad in Lebanon in July 2010. Does this mean that Syria is distancing itself from Iran or that Saudi Arabia is now less friendly with the USA and Israel?
Iran, Syria, Lebanon's Hezbollah, and Palestine's Hamas are usually seen as being on one side.
Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Jordan and United States are usually seen as being on the other side.
Saudi Arabia fears that the USA and Israel want eventually to treat Saudi Arabia as they are at present treating Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia also fears Iran.

At oilprice.com/, on 6 August 2010, Claude Salhani wrote: "A Coup in Saudi Avoided?"
According to Salhani:
1. A Saudi official has said the 'Bandar story' is an attempt by Iran to discredit the Saudis in the eyes of the Syrians.
Iran wants Syria to stay as a friend; Iran wants to stop Saudi Arabia and Syria becoming friends.
Bandar, of course, may be on his ranch in Colorado.
2. Recently King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia made an official visit to Lebanon and this suggests that Syria and Saudi Arabia are becoming more friendly.
Recently King Abdullah was in Morocco where he met the deputy director of the CIA.
Last year there was a summit meeting between King Abdullah and President Assad of Syria.
According to 'reliable sources' in Lebanon, Syria is to be allowed a 'soft return to Lebanon'.

3. Reportedly, Syria passed on to Saudi Arabia information that a member of the royal family was planning a coup d’état.
According to Middle East intelligence sources, this intelligence came from Russian intelligence.
Prince Bandar had made a number of visits to Russia to make arms deals.
4. Syria made it clear to Saudi Arabia that Israel, and not Lebanon, is responsible for the killing of Rafik Hariri, former prime minister of Lebanon.
In recent months, 70 people in Lebanon have been arrested for spying for Israel.
In August 2010, The Financial Times reports that a Saudi arms deal is now set for smooth US passage
"One of the largest arms deals in US history, involving the sale of weaponry worth some $60bn to Saudi Arabia, is likely to go through Congress without significant objections, according to people on Capitol Hill...
"People knowledgeable about the deal say a big factor smoothing its passage is Israel's relatively relaxed position, at a time when it and Saudi Arabia are both focusing on a possible threat from Iran... 'The lack of Israeli opposition is very telling,' said a congressional staffer..."
A month earlier we read that 'Israel is trying to block U.S.-Saudi Arabia defense contract".

DO THE SAUDIS SUPPORT AN ATTACK ON IRAN?
On 23 July 2010, World Net Daily reported that, according to "Arab security sources", Mossad boss Meir Dagan recently made a secret visit to Saudi Arabia to discuss Iran. (Arab countries working with Israel on Iranian nuke threat)
In 2009, it was reported that Dagan met Saudi spy chiefs to get assurances that Saudi Arabia would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets using Saudi airspace during any raid on Iran's nuclear plans. (Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran - Times Online)

According to World Net Daily, on 23 July 2010, "In recent weeks, Internet rumors claimed Israel dropped off military equipment in Saudi Arabia."
Some unsubstantiated reports even claimed Israel was building a secret military base in Saudi Arabia for use in a future conflict with Iran." (Arab countries working with Israel on Iranian nuke threat)
